FAQ's

What is Virgin Hair?

Virgin Hair is 100% Unprocessed Human Hair. This means that the hair has not been chemically altered by the use of perm, bleach, dye, or excessive heating. All cuticles are intact and running in the same direction. The hair comes from a healthy single donor.  Once the hair has been bleached or dyed it is no longer considered to be virgin hair. Therefore virgin hair only comes in two basic colors: natural black and natural dark brown.

Why should you buy Virgin Hair?

Virgin Hair is the best quality hair available on the market at this time. It does not tangle or shed excessively and can last years if cared for properly. Virgin hair can be bleached, dyed, straightened, curled, etc.  Anything that can be done to your hair can be done to virgin hair. Virgin hair comes in many styles and textures and offers versatility with low maintenance.  There are three basic styles: Straight, Wavy, and Curly. Straight hair can be curled and curly hair can be worn straight. Virgin hair comes in many different textures and includes Brazilian and Peruvian. Virgin hair can last up to a year or more with proper care and maintenance.

Care for your extensions just like your own natural hair. Shampoo and condition your hair regularly, especially if you use a lot of hair products. Deposits from the hair products, if not washed off on a regular basis, can degrade the quality of the hair.  Combined with the use of heat, can affect the smooth natural feeling and behavior of the virgin hair. If you maintain your virgin hair properly, you will have sleek, smooth, tangle free and beautiful natural looking hair for a very long time. You will be able to reuse the hair many times.

Can I bleach my hair?

Yes, virgin hair can be bleached and dyed to match your natural hair color. (It is recommended that the hair not be bleached more than 2 times as it can cause extensive drying and damage the hair.)

Do I need special shampoo?

No. Any shampoo that is used on human hair can be used to wash Virgin hair.

Can I straighten my curly hair?

Curly hair can be flat ironed or blow dried to lay straight.

Will the hair match my natural hair?

The hair is in it's natural state and will blend very well with dark hair. For lighter hair colors, the hair can be bleached and/or dyed.

Why would I need more bundles for a longer length?

Shorter hair offers more fullness than length. Therefore, longer lengths will need additional bundles to add fullness.

Hair Care Tips

The Products

  • To cleanse the hair we recommend a sulfate-free and clarifying shampoo.

  • To condition the hair we recommend a sulfate-free conditioner.

  • For curly textures, we recommend using a product formulated for curly hair.

The Process

  • Brush the hair with a weave brush or a comb with a wide tooth to remove any tangles from the hair.

  • Make sure the hair is detangled and pulled in the direction as if to give two side ponytails. Tilt your head to one side under the shower and allow the water to completely saturate your hair, working only one side at a time. Add the shampoo to your palms and slide your hands down your hair from weft to tip. DO NOT rub or bunch the hair to form lather as this will only create unnecessary tangles! Continue to slide your hands through your hair for about 3 minutes. Rinse by allowing the water to flow through your hair as before. You may slide your hands through your hair to speed up the rinse process but remember DO NOT rub or bunch the hair. Blot with towel and allow hair to AIR DRY.

  • Use the same method for your conditioner and co-washes (conditioner washes).

How Often

  • Shampoo: Regularly. As often as needed.

  • Co-Wash (conditioner wash): Regularly. As often as needed.

Before You Go To Bed:

CREATE A NIGHT ROUTINE AND STICK TO IT!

  • It is very important to manage your hair before you go to bed. Tie your hair up at night with either a silk/satin scarf or a silk/satin bonnet. The bonnets that give leeway for longer lengths work best.

  • For wavy/curly textures we recommend putting 3-5 large twists or braids in your hair then placing it under a bonnet.

  • For Straight textures we recommend wrapping your hair then placing it under a silk/satin scarf.

Following this nightly routine will make your extensions last longer, look better, and prevent tangling which leads to excessive shedding.

Treat your extensions as if they were your real natural hair!

THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT COMPONENT:
If you love your extensions they will love you back! Here are some DO's and DON'Ts.

DO

  • Allow your hair to air dry. If you decide to blow dry ALWAYS use a heat protectant.

  • When styling your hair with heat products, always use heat protectants ESPECIALLY with the curly/wavy textures. A high concentration of heat can cause heat damage and alter (loosen) the natural curl pattern. A wide range of heat protectants are available to choose from.

  • Follow our nightly routine or create your own.

  • Follow our wash regimen exactly.

  • Use paddle bushes and wide tooth combs.

  • Deep Condition your hair often. This is VERY important for hair that is bleached or dyed.

DON’T

  • DO NOT ADD A LOT OF PRODUCT TO YOUR HAIR! Hair tends to mat and tangle when styling products are added. If you have curly extensions and you want to tame the hair or reduce frizz, just use a small amount of anti-frizz serum. If products are added, you can remove them by co-washing to prevent dryness. A small amount of conditioner diluted with water in a spray bottle can be used for wavy and curly hair.

  • Never try to style, wash, or detangle your hair when you are tired or in a rush! This is a recipe for frustration and will cause you to be very rough with your hair.

  • Do not use bristle brushes.
